The most underground of Madrid's music bars. Its owner,
a bespectacled techno-baron called Sevi, is devoted to non-commercial,
futuristic music. Radar, however, indulges several different specialist
audiences - Wednesday: noise, industrial, experimental; Thursday: accessible
techno; Friday: electronica; Saturday: a mixture of dance genres. The
bar itself is a purist's heaven - minimalist, never too packed and home
to musicians and aficionados of fringe sounds. Dancing's not frowned upon,
but the music is more a vehicle for cerebral motion than high jinks. So
leave your sequinned tops and whistles at home and bring along a penchant
for Kraftwerk. You might meet robots in the toilets.
